PRODUCTION STAGE NEAR. (Special to the " Guardian.") TIMARU, This Day. \ further allotment of shares was made at a meeting of the provisional directors of the South Canterbury Pottery Company held in Timaru on Wednesday evening. . It was reported that tentative orders had already been received for thousands of flower pots, demijohns and vinegar J The chairman notified that, the builders were making satisfactory progress with the remodelling ot the factorv, and that the trial kiln had been completed. A slow fire had been lighted in the "trial kiln, and the tall chimney stack had been emitting smoke for some days past. Ihe kiln will be dried out for another 10 days, and the company's coal will be used tor thispurpose. The slip kiln will be the next installed. The experts have been busy purchasing suitable machinery and making moulds in readiness tor the production of pottery at the earliest possible stage. . Many visitors have inspected the factory, which at present is the centre of exceptional activity. Arrangements sue well in hand for the delivery ot raw materials to the factory, which should be in the producing stage within a few weeks.
