VISITING WARSHIP.

ARRIVAL AT WELLINGTON. (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, March 23. The Australian squadron arrived on an informal visit from Hauraki Gulf at seven o'clock this morning. The ships have been berthed at various wharves. Bear-Admiral Ford left the flagship Canberra at 9.30 a.m. to pay official calls, a salute of 13 guns being fired from Point Jerningham as he left the ship. The vessels will remain at Wellington for varying periods. The New Zealand warships Diomede and Leith are in port and the usual courtesies are l>eing exchanged. Various entertainments for the officers and men have been arranged by the Navy League and other organisations. While in the Hauraki Gulf manoeuvres were carried out. These included an anti-aircraft shoot, sub-calibre shooting by destroyers, and torpedo attacks by both day and night. Fine weather was experienced on the trip to Wellington.
