BIGAMY ADMITTED.
OFFENCE AT ONEHUNGA. (Per Press Association.) PALMERSTON NORTH, March 22. William Frank Lionel George Brown, a salesman, aged 37, admitted bigamy in the Magistrate’s Court to-day. He also pleaded guilty to making a false declaration for the purpose.of securing the registrar’s certificate. His wife gave evidence that tnej were married at Onehunga in September 1920, and there were three children! Accused deserted her in 1926, and she secured guardianship and maintenance orders. Her first knowledge of the second marriage was when the police informed her. The other woman in the case said she met accused in June last at New Plymouth, when he said his name was Gray, and that he was divorced many years ago. She married him in Palmerston” North in November, 1934. A clerk in the registrar’s office stated that Brown gave the name of Gray, declaring himself a bachelor. Accused .was sent to the Supreme Court for sentence.
