NOT UNDERMANNED.

SHIPS LOST AT SEA. QUESTION IN COMMONS. (United Press Association—Copyright). LONDON, March 12. Questioned to-day about .the recent losses of British steamships at sea, Mr Walter Runciman (President of the Board of Trade) replied that in the cases in which inquiries had been completed there was no evidence that the vessels were unseaworthy or undermanned. Inquiries were still proceeding in regard to the loss of the Blairgowrie and the Usworth, and the question of seaworthiness would, of course, be examined, but there was no doubt that the two vessels were adequately manned. The loss of the Usworth would in due course form the subject of a formal investigation. It would depend on the results of the preliminary inquiries as to whether similar investigations would be made in the cases of the Blairgowrie and the oil tanker La Crescenta. —British Official Wireless.
