The Railwayman's Union has called off the strike* that started on March 1. Meanwhile the majority of strikers have been dismissed and replaced by other unionists, enabling the service to be carried on. The busmen and tram men are still striking. A cablegram dated March 2 states: Dublin is in the throes of a transport trouble due to a lightning strike at the Great Western Railway terminus at Kingsbridge and at the Inchicore works owing to the suspension of an engine-driver. The strike began with goods trains last night. The morning newspaper trains did not run, after whidh workmen resumed, but came out again m the evening, bringing to a standstill all the trains. ." Meanwhile the stoppage of buses and trams is expected to-morrow owing to a strike over the dismissal of a busdriver.
