APOLOGY TO ITALY.
SHELLING OF A CONSULATE. INCIDENT WITH A STEAMER. (Received This Day, 11.55 a.m.) ROME, March 12. The Premier (M. Tsaldaris) apologised to the Italian Minister for a Greek warship shelling the Italian Consulate at Kavala. The captain of the Italian steamer Sorrelli Leoni disclosed that Government forces fired on her whan she was
leaving Salonika. A Greek minelayer explained that this was a warning. The captain protested and resumed his voyage.
MESSAGE TO THE NATION. LOYALTY OF ARMED FORCES. (Received This Day, 11.55 a.ra.) ATHENS, March 12. The attempt by M. Venizelos to constitute a Government in Crete received little support. The President (M. Zaimis) issued a (message to the nation thanking the armed forces for their loyalty.
