FRENCH WOMAN REPORTER.
AEROPLANE SHOT DOWN. INTERVIEW WITH VENIZELOS. (Received This Day, 12.30 p.m.) PARIS, March 12. The newspaper "Paris Soir" in the hope of bringing off a "scoop," dispatched an aeroplane to Crete with a wireless operator and a woman reporter, who entered an urgent plea that the rebels should bo instructed not to shoot. They, however, shot down the aeroplane at Canea, in mistake for a Government 'plane. The pilot skilfully landed without l injury to himself or his passenger.. The reporter promptly wirelessed that the population had suffered little and no blood had been spilt. Sfce added that the rebel leaders prior to departing on the cruiser Averoff looted the treasuries of Candia and Canea. This statement received an immediate official contradiction. The "Paris Soil's" woman reporter, Mademoiselle Titayna, actually gained an interview with M. Venizelos aboard the Averoff, but the text of it is copyright. •.. . ...
