JUSTICES OF PEACE.
THE ANNUAL CONFERENCE. (Per Press Association). DUNEDIN, March 12. The annual conference of the Federation of the_New Zealand Justices of Peace opened this morning, Mr Arthur Rosser (Auckland) presiding. After official welcomes from the city by the Mayor ((the Rev. E. T. Cox) it was resolved to send a message to Lord Bledisloo (patron of the Federation) much regretting his departure, the president making a warm reference to his Excellency's services. A Wellington remit that the office of the federation and the registrar be located in the capital city was lost. The question of requesting the Governor-General-designate (Viscount Galway) to accept the office of patron was left to the executive. In accordance with a notice of motion, Mi- Donaldson, on behalf of the Auckland association moved: ''That no rule of the federation shall be altered or amended unless due notice of motion has been given at least three months before the annual conference, such alterations to be confirmed at that conference." The motion was'carried. The delegates visited the medical school this afternoon.
