TOURIST DEPARTMENT

PRAISE BY A TOURIST. (Per Press Association.) HASTLNGS, March 12. After her experiences with the Government Tourist Department in London and New Zealand, the Duchess of Westminster considers there is not another travel bureau in the world to rival it in completeness of organisation, or one which makes travel so carefree. She said in. Napier to-day that she gave this opinion advisedly, alter repeated visits to many European countries. "Often agencies in Italy and Germany merely run their fingers over the map," she said, "and to all intents and purposes there is very little they can tell you. But your Government •Tourist Department arranges every tiling, and its representatives are intelligent." Her Grace said that well-to-cio English people were travelling much further than they did before the war, when they paid yearly visits to Cannes, Nice, vr German, Austrian, and Italian towns and watering places. Now they went further afield atid showed much more intelligent interest in the colonies.
