LYTTELTON DISPUTE SETTLED.^ I*' l ■' " ' • (Special to the “Guardian.”) CHRISTCHURCH, March 11. Following upon trouble that arose on Saturday in obtaining railway casual labour for the Tees, through the refusal of the Railway Department to take on a man who had been receiving compensation for an injury, the rest of the railway waterside workers refused to work on any ships in the harbour yesterday, until a settlement was come to. The local Disputes Committee met at 9 o’clock and sat until 10.45 when arrangements were made that the man concerned should be given employment. Work was resumed at 11 o’clock on all ships.
