The Berlin correspondent of the “Daily Mail” says that officers of the German Flying Union will receive military titles and badges on April 1, their first official recognition. General Hermann Goering (Minister of Aviation) explains that not all officers will have military rank and badges. H} s policy is not to: create an offensive air arm but a force strong enough fend Germany against aerial attack. Germany, the Minister said, when replying to the Frail co-British air pact Note, approved the effective defence methods proposed therein and expressed her readiness to send her an* force to help any country that was threatened by aerial aggression. This necessitated defining the specific air strength which entailed distinguishing those who would become members of the fighting ail* force from those who would remain civil aviators. The Air Ministry would control both branches. The new force would never lie employed-to threaten the peace of other nations.
