DULL, BUT MILD TO-DAY. Rain threatened in Ashburton during the night but none fell. Conditions were dull to-day but the temperature became milder as the day advanced. There was a light northerly wind. Reading 29.95 inches at 9 o’clock this morning, the barometer is considerably lower than at the end of last week.
