“NEW RELIGION”
OPPOSITION IN GERMANY. CONDEMNATION BY CLERGY. PROCLAMATION FROM PULPITS. (United Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day, 11.45 a.m.) BERLIN, March 10. The Confessions Synod’s proclamation was read from pulpits to adherents throughout Germany. The proclamation stated: “The new religion rejects the first commandment. Faith in external Germany replaces faith in the kingdom of Christ. The new anti-Christian religion creates its god in the likeness of man.” Half the German clergy now supports the Synod in its opposition to Reichbishop Mueller’s dictatorship.
