The Timaru Troting Club was favoured avitli glorious weather for its autumn meeting, which was held on the Wash dyke racecourse on Saturday. The crowd present was bigger than usual, and the gat© receipts showed an increase on last year’s figures, while the totalisator investments rose from £9997 of 12 months ago, to £12,395, an increase of £2398. Concluding results: — Fairlie Handicap, of 110 sovs. 2min 19sec class. One mile. —3 Grace McElwyn 1, 5 Black Jester 2,2 Lone Derby 3. Won by two lengths, third horse a length away. Time 2min 11 sec. CROMWELL JOCKEY CLUB. TRIVET WINS HANDICAP. DUNEDIN', March 9. The Cromwell Jockey Club’s annual meeting was concluded in fine weather. There was a large attendance and the totalisator handled £3190 10s compared with £1965 10s on the second day last year, making a total for the meeting of £5365 10s, against £3589 last year. The weather was warm and there was a large attendance for the concluding day of the Victorian Racing Club’s autumn meeting. K. Voiti •e’s vigorous horsemanship was the chief factor in Count Ito’s victory in the O. M. Lloyd Stakes. He was loudly cheered. Count It© has now had four wins in succession. Today’s Avas his last run under the ownership of his trainer P. B. Quinlan. Sylvandale was always well placed in the Australian Cup, and had no trouble in withstanding La Trobe’s challenge. Flail finished well to beat Topical for third place. King March was a possibility at the straight entrance, but tired. Gold Trail was never dangerous. The time was only half a second outside Nadean’s Flemington record. Sylvandale is owned by Miss Lorna Doone, the first woman to win the race. Details of races are: —
