HIGH SCHOOL MEETING. CONCLUSION OF BARRACKS. A rifle meeting was held by the Ashburton High School cadets this morning as a conclusion to their annual three-days' barracks. The results were:— No. 1 Practice (grouping, possible 25)—Cadet C. Tucker 25' Cadet Barton 25, Company Sergeant-Major Osborne 25, Corporal Bowden 25, Cade.t B. Cromie 25, Cadet J. Soutar 25. In the first shoot-oif Bartorr and Bowden tied and Barton defeated Bowden in the second shoot-off. No. 2 Practice (application, possible 25)—Cadet Colville 23, Corporal Bowden 22, Cadet Barton 2.1, Cadet B. Cromie 21, Cadet Haslett 20, Cadet J. Soutar 20, Cadet Fowke 20, Cadet Gluestein 20. No. 3 Practice (rapid, possible 50)— Lance-Corporal J. THE VICTORIAN KING'S PRfZE. RECORD AGGREGATE SCORE. (Received This Day, 10.55 a.m.) MELBOURNE, This Day. With the record aggregate of 346, IP. A. Paney, of Caulfield, won the Victorian King's Prize. His total broke the Australian record of 344 points established by J. Feltham last year. R. Mawer (Tasmania), 345, was second, R. Hemil (Victoria), 344, third, and D. Macdonald (New South Wales), 343, fourth.
