John Bainbridge, ah infantry rain, aged 24, was sentenced to death on a charge of having murdered Edward Biedman, aged 75. Bainbridge attended a New Years Eve party at the home of his fiancee. He played ''murder" and drew the ace of" spades. He acted the part of murderer, Bainbridge did not show agitation, but participated in the fun. " The Crown .alleged that a few hours before the party Painbridge murdered 'He'dmah, whose head was battered and his throat cut. Bainbridge robbed him of l£S5 to buy an engagement ring.
