Lady Young (wife of Sir Hubert .Young, Governor of Northern Rhodesia) who made a forced landing on ,the banks of the Zambesi, attributes her misdirection of her flight to a faulty compass. Petrol ran short and she decided to land in an open space. The crop proved to be a Kaffir corn, which clogged the undercarriage and the 'plane overturned. The natives supplied food. Dr. Kirby knew the native language. Lady 'Young was carried 90 miles I through, dense bush by natives. Dr. Kirby walked.
