ASSISTANCE, IN EMERGENCY. SPEEDBOAT ON THE TIMOR SEA. (United Press Assocflwlon—Copyright* (Received This Day, 11.15 a.m.) CANBERRA, This Day. The Minister of Defence (Mr Parkhill) announced that the Government has decided to purchase a speedboat for the purpose of rendering assistance in ease of emergency to the Empire air mail aeroplanes that are in difficulties oyer the Timor Sea. The boat will have a speed 1 of 25 knots and a range of 600 miles y It will be fitted with wireless and a powerful searchlight. RUNNING BEHIND SCHEDULE (Received This Day, 11.15 a.m.) : DARWIN, This Day. The inward Enf lish air mail arrived 48 hours behind schedule. - The outward mail was delayed 24 hours on account of the mail 'plane from Western Australia being held up at Fitzroy Crossing aerodrome.
