BAFFLING ROBBERY.
GOLD STOLEN AT CROYDON. (United Bress Association— Copyright.) LONDON, March 6. The robbery of gold valued at £20,000 from Croydon Aerodrome is one of the most baffling in the history of crime. The boxes, weighing 2401 b., were locked up at 10.30 o'clock on Tuesday night and when the vault was opened at 7.30 they had vanished. The outer door was still locked but the inner steel' door was ajar. None of the locks had been forced and all the keys were accounted for. A wax impression of a key would have been quite useless, as, if inaeeura'te to l-100,000th of an inch, would have failed to open the steel door.
