WORK TO BE RESUMED
WESTERN AUSTRALIAN MINES. AFTER SIX WEEKS IDLENESS. THE QUESTION OF HOURS. (United Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day, 1.55 p.m.) PERTH, This Day. The Western Australian goldmining companies have accepted the Ministry’s proposals for settlement of the dispute which has caused the mines to he idle for six weeks, Work will be resumed immediately. Within six weeks the miners will decide by ballot whether they favour a fortnight with 40 hours one week and 148 hours the next, or a 44-hour week. At a mass meeting the miners decided on favour of resumption on this basis.
