MAN CONVICTED.
FALSE REPRESENTATION. (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, February 14. On the false representation that his camp and possessions had been- destroyed by fire, Donald Cameron, a plumber, aged 47, obtained goods valued at £6 from a Hanmer Springs storekeeper. To-day, in the Magistrate's Court, Cameron was convicted and ordered to come up for sentence if called upon within twelve months, and also to pay £6 into the Court within a fortnight. Cameron pleaded that lie had been drinking at the time and had no recollection of haying made the statement.
