RUSSIAN BALLOON.
INTO THE STRATOSPHERE. SCIENTIFIC OBJECTIVE. MOSCOW, Nov. I. Russia has constructed a. balloon which will he Released during the next few days, the purpose of which is an ascent of 20 miles into the stratosphere. It will not carry a crew, but will he an. aerial laboratory, equipped with numerous automatic instruments, designed by a meteorologist, Professor Molschanoff, to register air currents, ionisation and solar ardiation in upper strata. The most ingenious contrivance will be the automatic radio transmitter, which at intervals will' mechanically convey all the recorded measurements to Leningrad Radio Station.
