POLES DEPORTED.
SEQUEL TO MINERS:’ STRIKE. (United Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day, 8.50 a.m.) . LONDON, August 12. The Paris correspondent of the “Evening News” says that the entire population of 200 Polish coal miners and their families has been deported,; under an armed guard, from the village of Le Forest, 110a,r Lens. This action has been taken because the Poles smashed the lights, and ventilators, and held 14 French miners as hostages at the 900 feet level for 36 hours before abandoning, the strike due to the expulsion of two compatriots.
