THE PUBLIC DEBT.
AMOUNT OUTSTANDING. (Per Press Association). WELLINGTON, August 9. The total amount of Public Debt outstanding at the end, of the last financial year was £226,543,393, according to the annual report of the Public Debt Commission presented in the House. The amount of debt repaid or redeemed under the Repayment of the Public Debt Act, 1925, during the year was £1,776,270. The. aggregate amount of debt repaid or redeemed since the commencement of the Act to the end of the last financial year was £10,208,873.
