SPORTS ATTRACTIONS. FIXTURES FOR TO-MORROW. The South Canterbury Rugby Union's junior (representative team and the Ellesmere Sub-Union's third grade representative team will both play football matches with teams representing the Ashburton County at the Showgrounds to-morrow afternoon. These fixtures should be keenly contested, and it is expected that there will be a good attendance of spectators The senior match set down for the Showgrounds is that- between Rakaia and Technical Old Boys. Allenton has defaulted to Methven, so that several Old Boys players, who have a bye, are combining with Allenton in a friendly match with Methven, at Methven. Fourth grade competition matches will be played at the Showgrounds as usual. The Hinds team which won the Ashburton Women's Hockey Association's senior A grade championship last Saturday, will meet a selected team to-morrow, and B and C representative teams will play matches with Ellesmere in the Domain, so that attractive sport will be seen there. Men's hockey competition matches will be continued in both the senior and junior grades. The Ashburton Basketball Association has arranged a 9-a-side handicap tournament for to-morrow, and indications are for an enjoyable afternoon's play. . Senior and junior medal matches will be played by members of the Ashburton Golf Club.
