TILDEN FAVOURS BRITAIN. (Received This Day, '1.20 p.m.) LONDON, July 19. W. T. Tilden has arrived from America on holidays. He says that Britain is undoubtedly the champion tennis nation. He believes Britain will retain the Davis Cup.

In a match at Eastbourne between England and Japan, Perry defeated Fdjikura, 6-1, 2-6, 6-4, 10-8; Austin defeated Hamagishi, 6-1, 6-2, 6-2.
