FATAL BRAWL.
AUSTRIANS AND GERMANS.
MAN KILLED IN CAFE.
LONDON, May 2
One man, an Austrian, was killed and many persons were injured in a cafe brawl between Bavarians and Austrians at Vilshofen, Bavaria. The brawl was followed by wholesale disorders and when 1000 Austrian legionaries left their camp and invaded the town to avenge tlieir comrade’s death German storm troops were rushed from Passau. In the meantime the Austrians had wrecked the cafe and created panic among the inhabitants. The Austrians were overpowered after a fierce struggle. The authorities detained Mr Patrick Ogilvie, the “Daily Express’ correspondent, for two hours, and after being searched he was escorted out of the town. An official tokl him that lie could attribute the Austrian’s death to heart failure.
The British Consul-General is investigating the matter.
