THE FRENCHMEN'S JOURNEY.
LANDING AT NEW YORK. (United Press Association—Copyright). (Received This Day, 10.45 *a.m.) BROOKLYN (New York), May 28. The Faench flyers, MM. Rossi and Codos, landed safely at ~Floyd Bennett Field at 1.38 (eastern standard time). They experienced minor engine trouble and decided to land, after covering approximately 3700 miles from: Paris in 38-hours 28 minutes. . ■ ' An earlier message from Bar Harbour (Maine) stated that the flyers were sighted oyer.Frenchmen's Bay at 10 o'clock this morning. , At midnight the airmen reported as follows: "We are laying a course for Nova Scotia. Navigation is difficult and the piloting is laborious. There- is no outside visibility. All goes well." - At 3 o'clock in the morning it was believed that they were over Nova Scotia, but they were not sighted. It is expected that they will fly oyer New York at noon and reach the Pacific Coast perhaps 24 hours later. Early in the morning it was presumed that the Frenchmen were flying through banks of heavy fog along the coast of Nova Scotia, according to radio advices, which reported fog but did not give an exact location. MM. Codos and Rossi flew from Paris'on an attempt to break thenown redord" of a non-stop flight. They hoped to reach San Diego (California), via Ireland and New York. WOMAN AS ENGINEER. MISS BATTEN'S PROGRESS. SYDNEY, May 28. Miss Batten arrived at Charleville at 5 p.m. and will have a full night's rest after a wonderful reception, bhe will resume the flight to Narromine, via Bourke to-morrow, and arrive at Sydney at 3 p.m. on Wednesday.
