Bartle) 1, Heritor 7.6 2, First Son 7.11 3. There were 15 starters. Won easily by a length and a half. Time, 1.17-1. Rockdale Mile, of 150 sovs; one mile —Upoko Ariki (New Zealand) 8.2 (E. Bartle) 1; Rogerson 7.12 2, Zeus 8.3 3. There were nine starters. Won by a neck. Time, 1.44^. J. T. Jamieson thus won two events with Chief Ruler stock.

MOONEE VALLEY, RESULTS. . MELBOURNE, May 26. At the. Moonee Valley races results were:— Federal Hurdle Race, of 300 sovs; two miles and a furlong—Kengo 10.0 (Fielder) 1, Zetheus 10.13 2, Catkin (New Zealand) 9.10 3. There were seven starters. Won by two and a half lengths. Time, 3.56. Commonwealth Steeplechase,, of 500 sovs; about two miles—Pactolus 9.7 (Armaden) 1, Calfly 11.3 2, Gravelines 9.3 3. There were 12 starters. Won by five lengths. Time, 3.51 f. The New Zealander, Queen Helen, finished eighth in the first division of the Piccaninny Handicap, five and a half furlongs, and Willwyn was unplaced in the second division. Lancet was unplaced in the first division of the Headwind High-weight Handicap, and Beaconsfield was unplaced in the second 1 division of the same race. Cape Fair was unplaced in the Mount Alexander Handicap. THE NEWCASTLE CUP. NEWCASTLE, May 26. The following is the result of the Newcastle Cup, of 300 sovs; one mile and three furlongs—Broccoli ' 6.12 (Parsons) 1, Magnaver 8.4 2, Fickle Glass 7.1 3. Won by a length; two and a half lengths second and third. Time, 2.26.

THE DOOMBEN CUP. N BRISBANE, May 26. At the Brisbane Amateur Turf Club's meeting the following was the result of the Doom ben Cup, of 1000 sovs; one mile and three-quarters —Whittingham 9.8 (McCarten) 1, Rivalli 8.11 2, Soft Step ,8.10 3. There were 10 starters. Won by a length and a half ; half a length second and third. Time, 2.8 J. Whittingham is trained by G. Price. McCarten rode last year's winner, Pentheus.
