YOUNG WOMAN’S NEW, RECORD. MELBOURNE TO SYDNEY. (Received This Day, 10.55 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. Miss Billie Samuels, aged 23, broke the Melbourne to Sydney cycling record. Her time for the 575-mile journey was 3 days 17 hours 7 minutes. Miss Samuels is an employee of the “Melbourne Argus.” and undertook to ride as a result of a controversy among the staff, when the question -of an endurance test for women was brought up.
