In 'view of the - troubled state of Europe and the. beginning of a new arms race, the Government has decided to increase its armed forces, especially in the air. It will probably oidei a number of aeroplanes abroad, a iso several warships. The Ministry of Finance is preparing new taxation, mclucl-ij-j.or increased duties on foieign manufactures, to meet the necessary expenditure. . WARSHIPS FOR GREECE. SEVENTEEN TO BE CONSTRUCTED (Received This Day, 11.30 a.m.) ATHENS, May 25. The Government has approved of the construction of 17 new warsliips, lor completion in 1942. The placing of orders will commence next year.
