FATALITY IN BRIDGE STREET. ■■. . i MAN SUFFERS HEART ATTACK. FALL FROM BICYCLE. When riding along Bridge Street on his bicycle this morning, Mr William ( Henry Marsden, aged 68, a green grocer, of Cambridge Street, Ashburton. suffered a heart attack, and fell from his cycle. Mrs W. Cameron, of Newlands, who ' was passing in a trap, stopped when she saw Mr Marsden fall, and asked him if he were all right. He replied that he was and proceeded to get up. After she had gone on a little way, Mrs Cameron looked back, and saw Mr Marsden lying on the road. She returned and found him dead. No inquest will be necessary, as a medical certificate has been given.
KNOCKED DOWN BY CAR. GISBORNE, May 24. Mr Henry Croker, aged 70, when returning from a dance at Patutahi waS knocked down by a motor-car early this morning, and was removed to hospital in a serious condition. CYCLIST STRUCK BY LORRY WHEEL. AUCKLAND. May 24. Mr Eugene Robins, aged 27, a wellknown University College graduate, was riding a bicycle yesterday, when a wheel came off a passing lorry and struck him. He was thrown to the ground, and his head • hit the kerb. His condition is fairly serious. - FATAL COLLISION. TAURANGA, May 24. A fatal accident occurred at Bethlehem at 11 o'clock last night. Mi" Richard McClinchie, while riding a motor-cycle, collided with the rear of a stationary moter-lorry, and died in a few minutes. He was the youngest son of Mr U." McClinchie, of Omokoroa. DEATH FROM INJURIES. HAMILTON, May 24. Mr Norman Pope, a farm hand, aged 22, of Otorohanga. Who was admitted to hospital yesterday suffering from severe spinal injuries caused through slipping in a cowshed at Otorohanga, died this morning. DEATH AFTER OPERATION. GISBORNE, May 24. Bettyi Hignett, aged 17, died in the Cook Hospital, this morning, after an operation for the removal of teeth.
