ART TEACHING.
CARNEGIE GIFT TO AUCKLAND.
(Per Press Association) AUCKLAND, May 24. A set of art teaching equipment, including about 200 books, has been allocated to the Auckland University Collego by -the Carnegie Corporation of New York, according to a letter received by the college council from the president of the Carnegie Corporation. The allocation is based on the understanding that the set will be made available, with the assistance of the City Council, to further all aspects of art teaching in the community. The first shipment is expected to reach Auckland from the United States shortly. The president of the college council, Mr Kenneth Mackenzie, said the gift was largely duo to negotiations by the registrar of the college, Mr M. R. O'Shea, while in America, and the city librarian, Mr John Parr. It was decided to thank the Carnegie Corporation for its generosity.
