MAN MISSING.
TRAGEDY FEARED AT KAIKOURA. CLOTHES' FOUND ON BEACH. (Special to the " Guardian.") KAIKOURA, Jan. 31.■, -> Nicholas Richardson, aged 57 years, a warehouseman, of Auckland, .and'-'-a-"-son of Mr D. Richardson, of Christchurch, |who was staying, with his brother, Mr .TV. Richardson, of Kaikoura, has been missing since 10.30, .yesterday morning. When Mr, Richard- , son failed to return to lunch yesterday 7> a search was conducted, and his cloth- ■ ing was found halfway up the beach. It appears as if he went in tor a bathe, and got caught "in the breakers. Heavy seas were running yesterday. ; Even at ordinary times the spot is dangerous for bathing, the beach shel- - ving suddenly. V ' The beach was patrolled yesterday afternoon without result. The search-'. will be.continued this morning.
