PRINCE OF WALES.
ATTEMPT ON HIS LiFE. FRENCH POLICE SECRET. LONDON, January 17. Tl'ie story of an attempt on the life of thy Prince of Wales is related by a Parisian journalist, M. Georges d\i PartCjS, in his book, "Secrets of the French Police." The writer states that' the Prince was spending a holiday at Le Toqnet and drove to the Casino one evening, leaving later in a friend's car to attend a private dance. The Prince instructed his chauffeur to garage his own car, and the chauffeur had gone about 1000 yards when the front wheels flew off and the car crashed into a wall.
Obviously the nuts on the wheels bad been loosened. Tbe chauffeur swore that he had not left the car all night, but it was proved that ho had visited a cafe for a drink. The culprit could not be traced, and the mystery could not bo solved. -
