Prince Starhemberg said:— (1) Hitler must give a written declaration, recognising Austria's sovereign independence. <2) It must be recognised that Fascism in Austria is represented by the Heimwehr, consequently the Nazi Party in Austria is superfluous. (3) Hitler must give a written guarantee never to attempt to place nonAustrian Germans in the leadership of the Heimwehr.
