A SCHOOL TEACHER'S DEATH. (Per Press Association). DUNEDIN, October 30. A' verdict of suicide while depressed owing to ill-health was returned at the inquest on Susan Rowan Melrose,, a school teacher, aged 39, who died ens route to the hospital on Saturday after being found suffering from poison. The evidence showed that she had suffered severe nerve trouble for years. CYCLIST KILLED BY BUS.
AUCKLAND, October 28. A young married man, Mr Edward Sydney Heighton Stevens, employed by the Union Company, Avas killed instantly on the Waterfront road when cycling borne from work at midday to-day. He ' followed a lorry, and swerved out from behind it to turn up a side road. At that instant a big passenger bus was crossing tbe intersection, and he struck it with such force that his skull was fractured. FATAL FALL FROM A HORSE. OPOTIKI, October 28. Mr G. T. Guide, a jeweller, fell off a horse on the Waiotahi Beach this morning and broke his neck, death being instantaneous.
