THE GOVERNMENT SUBSIDY. CHILD INTEREST IN FARMING. <Per Press Association). WELLINGTON, September 13. An announcement that Cabinet decided to provide £2OO for distribution among boys' and girls' calf clubs was made by the Hon. C. E. Macmillan (Minister of Agriculture). He said -he movement had proved a most valuable one iii stimulating and developing interest in farming among scholars of primary schools, and, as it had been represented that withdrawal of the Government subsidy was likely seriously to prejudice the work of the clubs, the matter had been further considered by Cabinet, which had decided to make available a' sum not exceeding £2OO for distribution to clubs. In no case will a subsidy exceed, £2O.
