SHOALS OF MESSAGES.
CONGRATULATING MRS McCOMBS "A WONDERFUL VICTORY." (Per Press Association). CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. Shoals or congratulatory telegrams were received this morning by Mrs McCombs. Telegrams were received by tho Telegraph Department in such large numbers that Airs Mr-Combs gave instructions that unless they were more than usually important they should be delivered with the afternoon mail. A few reached her, however. These congratulated her on her wonderful victory. Mrs McCombs stated that her return marked a step forward in the women's movement by reason of the fact that women had been more unanimous in. their support than ever before. Sho had had telegrams from all over Now Zealand, particularly from women and women's organisations, wishing her success.
