VERDICT OF MURDER.
BODY OF BABY FOUND ON BEACH (Per Press Association) WELLINGTON, This Dav. At the inquest to-dav in regard to the death of a baby whose body was found in a canvas bag on the beach near Happy Valley on August 12, a detective said that he had conducted extensive inquiries but had been unable to trace the parents. The verdict was one of murder by some person unknown.' The evidence showed that the injuries were of such a nature as to exclude drowning as the cause of death, the injuries having been inflicted before the body got into the water.
