BOWLING.
THE RAKAIA CLUB. The annual meeting of the Itakaia Bowling Club was held in the-Library on Monday evening. Mr 0. Shannon (president) presided over a large attendance. The balance-sheet showed a credit balance of £4 4s lid. The election of officers resulted:— Patron, Mr W. Palmer; president, Mr C. Shannon (re-elected); vice-presi-dents, Messrs W. Cromie and D. Newman ; committee, Messrs C. Shannon, W. Cromie, D. Newman, H. C. Conway, C. E. Evison, O! Carrigan, J. Heenev, S. Bryant. M. P. Cooke, G. Tatterson, W. Black, F. J. Colgan, B. McNamara, G. S. Hardy, W. Palmer. H. Rapley, and J. Cronin; secretary, Mr H. C. Conway (re-elected); treasurer, Mr W. Cromie; auditor, Mr L. Cordncr; green superintendent, Mr C. Shannon; selector, Mr H. Rapley; delegates to Ashburton Sub-Centra, Messrs M. P. Cooke, C. Shannon and H. Conway; delegate to Christchurch Centre, Mr J. D. Colville. It was decided to enter in the Ashburton County Championships for the Pennant matches, also in the club competitions, f It was decided that the club rinks and doubles be played on the one life system, and the singles on the sectional system. ,
The match committee is Messrs C Shannon, H. Eapley and H. C. Conway.
