(From Qur Own Correspondents.) METHVEN. ' The N.G. (Bro. W. J. Dolan) presided over an attendance of 32 members at the fortnightly "meeting of the Loyal Methven Lodge, M.U.1.0.0.F. The Loyal Rakaia Lodge inyited the Meth-. ven Lodge to attend its meeting next Monday, when .the Ashburton Lodge will pay an official visit. The Springston Druids’ Lodge wrote asking that a brother be placed on the Methven medical list and this was agreed to. It was decided to obtain frames for the past grands’' certificates. Two candidates were initiated and one proposal w’as received. Sick pay in favour of three members, amounting to £5, w'as passed for payment.; P..G. Bro. E. Vaughan reported on a r#i liter view; writh the lodge doctor in corinection with dressings, and the arrangements made. His action in .the matter was.approved.. As Bro. W. J. Going has left the district his resignation as a trustee of the lodge w r as accepted. The appointment of a successor was held over. It was decided to pay an official visit to the Loyal Ashburton Lodge in September and to invite the district officers to visit Metliven on a date suitable to them, preferably in. October. CHERTSEY. An impressive service to the memory of the late Mrs Phyllis Wilkinson, “Higham,” Chertsey, was conducted on Sunday by Canon Wright. The service was atteiided by a large number of relatives and friends. Miss Nancy Robinson was at the organ. RUAPUNA. There was only a small attendance at the services held at Buapuna by a captain of the Church Army on Thursday and FHday nights. The fortnightly meeting of the Ruaptina branch of the Workers’ Educational Association, was held on Saturday evening at the house of .the leader (Mrs W. Thompson). A play, “Mrs Adis,” by Sheila Kaye-Smitti, was read and discussed.
