THEFT AND FORGERY.
REFORMATIVE DETENTION. . (Per Press Association). - AUCKLAND, August 28. James Duggan Stephens, aged 26, who was formerly employed bv ’ the Public Trust Office, was sentenced today to three years’ reformative detention for the theft of £259 and forgery. Counsel said that the prisoner’s offences were due to gambling. Mr Justice Herdman said the ease was just common theft.
