AIRMAN’S FATE.
DROWNED IN THE CONGO. ATTEMPTING RECORD FLIGHT. (United Press Association—Copyright). (Received This Day, 12.25 p.m.) CAPE TOWN, Aiigut 28. It has been definitely established that the Swiss airman, M. Carl Mauer, was drowned in the Congo on August 6.
M. Carl Mauer set out from Cape Town on August 4 in an attempt to break the record flight to England. He disappeared on the second day out.
