OARSMAN'S WILL.
FAMOUS OXFORD COACH. Estate valued at £78,951, with net personality £75,951, was left by Dr. Gilbert Charles Bourne, the famous Oxford oarsman and coach, who died on March 9. Ho rowed for Oxford against Cambridge in 1882 and 1883, and coached the crew from 1885 to 1927. He was father of Captain Robert Croft Bourne, M.P., for Oxford City, who himself strobed the Oxford crew for four years. Dr. Bourne left all his land in tbe county of Hereford to his son, and the residue of the estate, together with the use of his heirlooms, ini trust for bis wife. On her death tbe property to pass as to three-fifths to son and two-fifths to his daughter. Among the heirlooms named is "An Oriental teapot of the Ming dynasty, presented by Queen Elizabeth to her chaplain, Bishop Parry, afterwards Bishop of Worcester."
