Heat and drought, with plagues of grasshoppers combined during the past week to cause further damage to Canadian crops. The Bureau of Statistics reports an increase of more than 100,000 bushels export clearance during the week ended last Friday, compared with the previous week. The increase is more than 500,000 bushels against the figures for the corresponding period last year.
