LIKELY APPOINTMENT
AMBASSADOR IN MOSCOW. (United Press Association —Copyright). LONDON, August 8. The “Manchester Guardian” says it is understood that the new Ambassador to Moscow will be \ iscount Chilstou, K.C.M.G., British Minister ,at Budapest. Viscount Chilston has been in the Diplomatic Service since 1898. He has seen service in many of the capitals of Unrope, particularly Austria, Rumania- and Hungary. His early service was performed in Athens, Madrid and Itome. From 1919-1921 he was diplomatic secretary to the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, and in 1921 was sent to Vienna as British Minister and later as Consul-General. In 1928 he was transferred to Hungary. The vacancy at Moscow was caused by the recall, for purposes of consultation, of Sir Esmond Ovey, in connection with, the trial and imprisonment of the Vickers engineers.
