SLUMP IN PRICES.
BUTTER IMPORTERS DENY GUILT LONG WAR OF ATTRITION. (United Press Association—Copyright). LONDON, April 8. Dairy produce importers and merchants* are indignant at cablegrams from the New Zealand Dairy Board attributing the slump in prices to their actions. The Importers' Association officially challenges the statement and asserts that nothing could possibly have been done here to cope with the hucre supplies, exceeding all possible consumption. It is stated here that the New Zealand Dairy Board had all the necessary data to forecast the present crisis at least two months ago. Some importers expect a war of attrition lasting for y«ars.
