THE RAILWAY YARDS.
Sir, —The inadequacy of the Ashburton trucking yards has stood 90 years on the floor without being remodelled or their inefficiency taken into account. I have been held up recently till midnight trucking. When I arrived there the yards were chcck-a-block, with nowhere to put the stock. There is generally a hurling of epithets or else blaming the d Government. The yards are most out-of-date and inefficient. Even. Winslow, where the yards are used once in albino moon, is far ahead of Ashburton. It is time we had more accommodation. Has Ashburton reverted to a back-block station? MY GR ANDFATHER’S CLOCK.
