GATE TAKINGS. NEW SYSTEM ARRANGED. WELLINGTON, April 5. The Management Committee of the New Zealand Rugby Union decided to-night to allow unions controlling matches on the New Zealand Union's behalf 33 1-3 per cent, of the gate and grandstand takings. Opposing a motion by Mr A. C. Kitto that the question be deferred until after the annual meeting, the chairman (Mr S. S. Dean), who introduced the motion, said the passing ef the, resolution would enable the Auckland Union to negotiate on more favourable terms with the Mount Eden Park Trustees. Mr E. S. Hylton was of the opinion that the resolution was in the right direction. Doubtless in the past, unions had sacrificed some of their best playing and paying days.
